AI is not a service we sell. It is how the work gets done.
Most agencies added an "AI" page in 2023 and changed nothing about their delivery. This page is about where it genuinely changes the economics of the work — and, equally, where we deliberately do not use it.
Where it earns its place
Four jobs where it changes what is possible. Not four places we added it to sound modern.
Creative volume
Testing needs variants faster than production can supply them, so most accounts test three creatives when the honest answer needs twenty. AI production removes that constraint, which changes what you can learn rather than just what you can spend.
Reporting that assembles itself
Somebody on your team spends a day a month copying numbers between platforms and a slide deck. Dashboards pulled straight from source systems give that day back and remove the transcription errors nobody catches.
Classification at volume
Search queries, support tickets, reviews and survey responses categorised in bulk. This is the least glamorous use and one of the most valuable — it turns text nobody had time to read into something you can act on.
Research synthesis
Reading a competitor's entire content library, or two hundred customer interviews, and coming back with the patterns. A human still decides what it means, but the reading is no longer the bottleneck.
Where we do not use it
The limits are the interesting part.
A tool that can do anything gets used for everything, including the jobs it is bad at. These are the lines we hold.
Unreviewed published content
Nothing carrying your name goes out without a human who understands the subject having written or verified it.
Factual and regulated claims
Statistics, product claims and anything with compliance exposure are written against a source by a person, every time.
Anything a rule would do better
Using a language model where a lookup table works is slower, more expensive and less reliable. It is also extremely common.
Synthetic testimonials
Generated footage presented as a real customer is deceptive and in many markets unlawful. We will not produce it.
Search is changing underneath everyone
Planning for answers, not just rankings.
AI Overviews and answer engines increasingly sit above the organic results. A position-one ranking is worth less than it was, because a growing share of queries are answered before anyone scrolls.
That does not make SEO obsolete, but it does change the target. Being the source an answer engine cites rewards clear attribution, extractable passages, a resolvable entity and demonstrable expertise — which are the same things that made content good before, now with a harsher filter on everything else.
It also raises the value of channels that do not depend on a click at all. Part of why cinema, social and brand building sit alongside SEO here is that we do not think a plan resting entirely on blue links is a safe plan any more.
